Hola, Fancy Faithful -

Just dropping a note to let you know the fun fab folks of Illusive (or at least Anna and Mark, a.k.a. The Expendables) will be exhibiting at yon West Hollywood Book Fair this weekend. It's a hoot.

It'll be especially hooty this year, as Mark (alleged writer) will be on stage and allowed to speak at the Indie Publisher panel! Those fools. At that hour of the morning Mark is still shaking off the effects of the Beastie Boy's 1986 album, Licensed to Ill. There's no telling what he might say. He might spill all the secrets of the Indie Secret Society! He might just pass out! There's no knowing unless you show up!

WEST HOLLYWOOD. THIS SUNDAY. LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

(Seriously, I'll dish on anything you want to know. If you bring me coffee, I'll probably be able to make it coherent. Just come on over. It'll be our secret. - Mark "Deep Throat" Masterson)

Mark here, writing to you from Seattle, the City of Strange Shoulders, courtesy the marvelous complimentary wireless connection here at the Silvercloud Inn. (Coincidence note - Frasier is currently playing on the 42" high definition plasma TV hanging from the wall here (it's even the episode with Alan Tudyk!))

Today was travel day for the Illusive Team. I flew from Orange County to San Jose, then changed to a Seattle-bound plane with Ray and Anna on it (not a coincidence). I've never seen Seattle by daylight before. Nice town they got. We elected to delay booth-setup until tomorrow morning (well, later this morning, technically. I'm the writer; no one expects me to get sleep anyway) in favor of touristy traveling. We hit the Space Needle and the Science Fiction Museum, and I'd probably be telling more wild stories in an inventive way if I didn't suddenly realize the need for rest is upon me like a lead dog. A lead dog who's really let himself go.

But we're psyched. Emerald City is always a good convention for us. Lots of fine people, low stress, and very little chance of having our skin dry out.

More details and anecdotes later, fun fans!
